On Monday, FAW Mazda officially announced the recall of 38,000 units of the Mazda 6 sedan, just three days after the issue was first reported. A reporter visited a local FAW Mazda dealership in the Lotus Pool area of Fengtai District to investigate. Over the course of half an hour, the reporter observed eight Mazda 6 owners coming in for the installation of fuel tank insulation pads. According to reports, around 60 to 70 customers are arriving daily for this service during the recall period.
The cost of the insulation pad itself ranges from 300 to 400 yuan, but the installation is free. Each installation takes less than 20 minutes, making the process quick and convenient for car owners. With such a large number of vehicles affected, the total cost of the recall is estimated to reach tens of millions of yuan. This move highlights the company’s commitment to addressing potential safety concerns and maintaining customer trust.
