First, single-stage lubricating oil and reclassifying engine oil use single-stage engine oil in early stage, and the viscosity is marked as SAE10W, SAE30, etc. The addition of “W” for each season grade means that it is applicable to low temperature environment. Take SAE10W as an example, at a specific temperature In the classification system, the ambient temperature is not lower than minus 20°C and it will not solidify, so it is suitable for very cold areas and cannot bear the lubrication requirements when the temperature is high. If the ambient temperature changes greatly, the use of a single-grade engine oil must be replaced with the temperature. Modern regenerative motor oils use viscosity index additives to meet the viscosity requirements at high and low temperatures. They can achieve low-temperature start-up and rapid lubrication, reduce flow resistance, and provide sufficient engine lubrication at high temperatures. Second, how to choose oil for your car?

The choice of oil has two steps: one is the use of grade selection, and the other is the choice of viscosity grade. The level of oil use can be seen from the above table, the difference lies in the second letter, the later the order, the higher the level. The selection of the use level mainly considers the engine type. The difference in engine lift power and piston average speed for different models also produces different effective cylinder pressures and engine speeds. The higher the cylinder effective pressure, the higher the engine speed, and the higher the level of oil usage. In general, new models of engines require higher levels of oil usage. When selecting the oil, it must be strictly selected according to the oil use level specified in the automobile instruction manual. If there is no oil of the same level, a higher level of oil can be used, but it must not be replaced with a low level.

Third, the use of oil precautions

1, gasoline engine oil can not be used for diesel engines. Can not use special gasoline engine oil instead of diesel engine oil, so as not to accelerate the wear of the diesel engine. Gasoline engine oil and diesel engine oil should be used differently in principle. They can only be used on behalf of or in the indicated level range when there are substitute instructions or general oils for gasoline engines and diesel engines.

2. The oil viscosity should be as small as possible. To ensure reliable lubrication of the engine, the oil viscosity is as small as possible. The high viscosity engine oil is only suitable for some severely worn engines except for the southern summer. The blind selection of high-viscosity oil increases the resistance of the engine during operation, thereby increasing fuel consumption. The use of oil with too low viscosity may cause the oil pressure to be too low, the lubricant film strength is insufficient, and the seal is not strict. Therefore, it is necessary to properly select engine oil according to the vehicle condition and season.

3, adhere to the principle of economic application. When selecting the oil level of use, premium engine oil can be used on less demanding engines, but excessive degraded use is not economical. Do not use the lower grade oil in the more demanding engine, otherwise it will cause early engine wear and damage.

4, should try to use multi-grade oil. The multi-grade oil has good viscosity and temperature performance, and has a long use time in the engine, saves fuel, and is versatile for all seasons and is easy to manage. When multi-grade oils are used, the oil color tends to darken and the oil pressure is less than that of ordinary oil. These are normal phenomena and do not affect the use.

According to the experience of tanker manufacturers, lubricating oil must be selected to suit its own engine. Unless the owner is very experienced or the experienced repairman recommends that you change the engine oil with different parameters, it is still replaced according to the original instructions.
