Jeff Rudolph once again crossed the border on Thursday to cover a fire in Wisconsin, and here's his detailed report: Pleasant Prairie, WI responded to a commercial fire at Dejno’s Inc located at 7533 75th St. The incident was escalated to Box Alarm level 56-01 after flames were spotted from a rooftop hopper unit used for loading sawdust. Fire crews from Winthrop Harbor, IL arrived to assist, switching over to Pleasant Prairie Station 1. Newport Township Engine 1415 was also dispatched to the scene. Additional mutual aid units came from Bristol, Somers, Kenosha, and Salem. One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was treated and released on-site. Due to the nature of the fire, extensive overhaul was necessary to ensure all smoldering dust was fully extinguished. The fire appeared to be challenging due to the combustible materials involved, requiring a coordinated response from multiple departments. Several photos from the scene capture the intensity of the operation. One image shows firefighters from Newport Township working on the roof, while another highlights Pleasant Prairie Truck 5631 positioned to access the upper levels of the industrial building. A tank truck from Pleasant Prairie, along with Newport Engine 1415, was seen supplying water to the site. Both units are Pierce models, showcasing the equipment used in such incidents. Another photo features Pleasant Prairie Engine 5612, a 2010 Pierce Quantum pumper/tanker, actively pumping at the scene. These images provide a visual record of the effort and coordination required to manage this type of fire. For more photos from the scene, you can visit Jeff’s Flickr page [here](#).
