The ADS series compacting and pelletizing system combines the functions of compacting, plasticizing, and pelletizing into one step. It is ideal for plastics recycling and pelletizing processes. The ADS system offers a reliable and efficient solution for re-pelletizing crushed regrinds or flakes of PE/PP/ABS/PS/HIPS/PC materials.

Final products produced by the ADS system are in the form of pellets or granules, which can be directly fed into the production line for film blowing, pipe extrusion, and plastic injection, among other applications.

Working Steps of ADS Compacting and Pelletizing System

1. Feeding: As standard design, lumps or thick flakes after crushing are conveyed into the extruder through the screw loader. Motor drives of loading and hauling devices cooperate with ABB inverters. The feeding speed of the screw loader is fully automatic.
2. Plasticization and Degassing: A specialized single-screw extruder is used to gently melt the material. The lumps or flakes will be well melted and plasticized in a 28D/10D processing section. With a double-zone vacuum degassing system, volatile substances such as low molecular compounds and moisture will be efficiently removed, especially suitable for heavy printed films and materials with some water content.

4. Melt Filtration: A regular single-plate/piston double-station screen changer or non-stop double-plate/piston four-station can be installed on the head of the extruder to achieve significant filtration performance. The requirements for filter technology depend heavily on the quality of the input material and the planned use of the granules.

5. Pelletizing: The die-face water ring pelletizing system is set as the standard granulating method in the ASE system. A self-adjusting pelletizing head ensures the best granulate quality and long uptime due to consistent blade pressure. The RPM of the rotating blades is automatically adjusted based on the melt extruding pressure. An advanced dewatering vibration sieve combined with a horizontal-type centrifugal dewatering system provides high-performance dried pellets.
