This report comes from Chi-Town Fire Photos:

I witnessed a fire at 6454 S. Wolcott this morning. Engine 101 arrived on the scene with a 2.5-inch attack line, and there was active fire in the attic. The crews faced challenges with forced entry since the building was completely boarded up. They managed to knock down the bulk of the fire from the exterior before moving in for mop-up operations. Both Engine 101 and 116 were pulled out, and Truck 41 had their main line extended to the roof.

The photos show firefighters working hard during the overhaul phase, making sure the fire is fully extinguished. Several different fire engines are visible, including a Pierce and an E-ONE unit, which are common in the Chicago area. One image even shows a Christmas wreath on a fire engine, hinting that this incident may have occurred around the holiday season. It's always impressive to see how quickly and efficiently the crews respond, especially when dealing with difficult access and structural challenges.
