Wow, what a year it's been! The past 365 days have kept the entire Forge team incredibly busy, and now, here at Autodesk University, we're thrilled to share and celebrate some of the incredible progress we've made across our people, our platform, our DevCon events, our customers' achievements, and our investments in the construction industry. Let’s take a closer look.
---
It all starts with the amazing people behind Forge. Recently, Sam Ramji joined us to lead our cloud platform initiatives. With his extensive background as the VP of Product Management at Google Cloud Platform, the founder of Cloud Foundry, and heading up open-source and platform strategies at Microsoft, Sam brings invaluable expertise. His vision is already reshaping the future of Forge, and our community couldn’t be more excited to welcome him aboard.

Our platform continues to evolve rapidly. Just recently, we launched a public beta for the Design Automation API for Inventor—a feature our community has been eagerly anticipating. Now, developers can write scripts and add-ons to automate tasks for AutoCAD and Inventor in the cloud. Additionally, we're previewing Design Automation for Revit this week, with a public beta expected by the end of January. On top of that, we’re introducing exciting enhancements to the BIM 360 API, including support for Issues, RFIs, and Checklists.

DevCon events have been a massive success this year. We hosted four Forge DevCon gatherings in China, Japan, Germany, and now the U.S., showcasing the incredible growth of our community. Some of these events were standing-room-only, proving just how passionate our developers are. In Germany, attendance surged by around 50% year-over-year. This Las Vegas event marks the final DevCon of 2018 and is our biggest yet, with over 25% more attendees than last year.
One standout customer story comes from JELD-WEN, a leading manufacturer of custom wood and vinyl windows and doors. Using Forge, they developed a fully customizable, interactive online experience that transformed how customers engage with their products. These innovations not only streamlined the buying process but also delivered impressive business results.

The Forge Fund has also been hard at work investing in the construction sector. Over the past year, we’ve made six significant investments: Smartvid.io, Project Frog, ManufactOn, eSub, Rhumbix, and Assemble Systems, Inc. Our partnership with Assemble Systems proved so successful that we acquired the company, and in July, they became part of Autodesk.
For those of you attending Autodesk University in Las Vegas this week, there’s plenty more to explore. We’ve organized a series of tech-focused meetups, a DevLab session, an answer bar where you can ask questions, and over 10 software companies and system integrators showcasing their Forge-powered applications. Plus, there are interactive exhibits designed to inspire and engage.
As we wrap up 2018, there’s still so much more to look forward to in 2019. To stay updated on all things Forge and catch the latest developments, visit us at [https://forge.autodesk.com/](https://forge.autodesk.com/).
