On January 21, the Central Asia-China Natural Gas Pipeline Anti-corrosion Construction Base was laid at the foundation of the Alashankou Port.
It is reported that this natural gas pipeline project is an important project to build a strategic pipeline for China's oil and gas. The introduction of natural gas from Central Asia will help increase the proportion of natural gas in China's primary energy consumption, strengthen international energy cooperation, realize the diversified supply of China's oil and gas resources, and improve energy supply security.
The project will be constructed in two phases. The first phase of the project was completed and put into production in 2009, and the second phase of the project was completed and put into operation in 2015. The gas pipeline adopts 3PE external anti-corrosion and the internal coating adopts epoxy coating. In order to avoid long-distance transportation of anti-corrosion steel pipes and wreckage of wagons at border crossings, the Central Asian Pipeline Project Department of China National Petroleum Corporation decided to set up a large-scale anti-corrosion plant in Alashankou with a construction investment of 150 million yuan. The external anticorrosion production line for steel pipes and the anticorrosion production line for four steel pipe inner coatings are expected to have production conditions at the end of March, and strive to form an annual production scale of 1350×104m2 for pipeline anticorrosion in the first half of the year to reach an average daily production of 6km of anticorrosive steel pipes. Production speed. The construction of this anti-corrosion project will not only play a decisive role in the completion of the Central Asia-China natural gas pipeline on schedule, but will also play a positive role in promoting local economic construction.

TiB2 is extensively used for evaporation boats for vapour coating of Melamine Powder aluminium. It is an attractive material for the aluminium industry as an inoculant to refine the grain size when casting aluminium alloys, because of its wettability by and low solubility in molten aluminium and good electrical conductivity.

Thin films of TiB2 can be used to provide wear and corrosion resistance to a cheap and/or tough substrate.
