After five years of dedicated effort, six Chinese researchers successfully developed the first sunshade solar water heater in China. This innovative product marks a significant breakthrough in solar technology by eliminating the need for rooftop installation. Instead, it can be mounted above a window, making it more space-efficient and aesthetically pleasing. The system has earned three national patents, covering its design, installation method, and overall appearance.
The window-type solar water heater uses advanced heat pipe technology originally developed for space shuttles, ensuring high efficiency in heat absorption. It can be installed either inside the wall or on the surface using a gusset plate, offering flexibility for different home setups. Regardless of the installation method, the piping remains completely hidden, maintaining a clean and modern look.
Currently, the product is undergoing rigorous testing at the Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau. If the results are favorable, it will be installed in late October and is expected to hit the market by the end of the year. This development not only represents a major step forward in renewable energy solutions but also sets a new standard for solar water heaters in residential applications.
