China's largest rubber tire exhibition opened in Shanghai
The 7th China International Rubber Technology Exhibition, currently the largest professional event for rubber and tire in China, kicked off in Shanghai on November 14. Alongside it, the first international-standard tire exhibition, the Asian Essen Tire Show, was also launched within the same venue, marking a significant milestone for the Chinese tire industry.
It is widely recognized that China is the world's leading tire producer, yet it has lacked a domestic exhibition that truly reflects the country's global standing in the tire sector. Previously, Chinese tire companies had to rely on automotive exhibitions for visibility and promotion. However, the Asian Essen Tire Show now offers a dedicated platform for information exchange, connecting tire manufacturers with suppliers, raw material providers, and related service companies. This event has drawn major domestic brands such as Shuangqin Tire, Hangzhou Zhongce, Triangle Group, South China Tire, Linglong Rubber, Fengshen Tire, Guizhou Tire, Tianjin Guolian, and others, as well as international players like Pirelli, Giti, and Nexans. Their innovative booth designs have attracted a large number of visitors, making this the first of its kind in China.
Driven by the rapid growth of the tire industry, China’s rubber chemicals and machinery have become key players in the global market. The country offers a comprehensive range of raw materials and equipment in one place. Peter Hlzer, CEO of BRV from Germany, highlighted the strong interest of German firms in the Chinese tire market, emphasizing their desire to deepen collaboration with local rubber industry players. BRV, with over 50 years of experience, sent a delegation of more than 30 members to engage with Chinese companies. Additionally, delegations from industry associations in Vietnam and other countries also attended the event.
According to Wei Yun, chairman of Zhonglian Rubber (Group) Corporation, the three-day exhibition will feature nearly 400 companies from over 20 countries showcasing cutting-edge technologies and products. To enhance interaction among exhibitors, visitors, and industry professionals, a series of tire technology seminars were held during the event, addressing critical topics such as industry trends, regulatory standards, European market dynamics, and trade services.
At the exhibition, Li Yongwu, President of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association, emphasized the importance of such events in fostering innovation and international cooperation. The event not only highlights China's growing influence in the global tire and rubber industry but also serves as a vital platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and business development.
