Powerful, fully integrated simulation tools make it easier than ever to optimize designs before prototyping and manufacturing.

A groundbreaking update for mechanical engineers, product designers, and makers has arrived. Autodesk Fusion 360 now offers built-in simulation capabilities that can significantly speed up and improve the product development process.

Fusion 360 brings together CAD, CAM, and CAE in one cloud-based platform. It's a unified, connected, and accessible tool designed for modern product design and manufacturing workflows.

The new simulation features—along with other updates—come included with Fusion 360 at no extra cost. These tools are seamlessly integrated into the workflow, requiring no complicated setup. Users get quick, actionable results in just seconds.

And there’s still no additional charge: Fusion 360 remains only $25 per month for an annual subscription, and is completely free for students, educators, hobbyists, and startups.*

Smarter Prototyping with Simulation

Fusion 360’s simulation tools allow users to perform linear stress and modal analysis directly within the design environment. You can define materials, apply constraints, and add loads to identify weaknesses early in the design phase. This helps reduce costly prototypes and time-consuming revisions.

"Simulation used to require multiple tools and hours of work. With Fusion 360, we’ve made it powerful yet incredibly simple," said Kevin Schneider, Director of Fusion 360 at Autodesk. "By integrating simulation into the design and engineering workflow, users can create more reliable parts with fewer iterations and gain faster validation. This update marks a major step forward in making Fusion 360 the most innovative all-in-one platform for product development."

Future updates will include even more advanced simulation options like thermal and fatigue analysis.

Enhanced Collaboration and Productivity

Collaboration in Fusion 360 just got better. The latest update includes real-time multi-user design reviews, improved commenting, project migration between hubs, and a more refined A360 experience.

No matter how complex your project is, working with others is now smoother, simpler, and more integrated. Instead of sending static images or lengthy screen shares, you can share a live link so remote team members or stakeholders can view and interact with the model in real time through a web browser. It’s the future of distributed product development.

Drawings have also been enhanced, allowing users to add associative centerlines and center marks, as well as align and renumber balloons.

In addition, a new set of keyboard shortcuts has been introduced to help users navigate the design process more efficiently. These include gestures like extruding, filleting, and dimensioning sketches.
