Powerful, fully integrated simulation tools now make it easier than ever to optimize designs before prototyping and manufacturing.

A game-changing update for mechanical engineers, product designers, and makers is here—Autodesk Fusion 360 now includes built-in simulation capabilities that can significantly speed up and enhance the product development process.

Fusion 360 brings together CAD, CAM, and CAE in one cloud-based platform. It's a seamless, connected, and accessible tool designed for the modern way of creating and making products.

The new simulation features, along with other improvements, are all included right from the start. They’re deeply integrated into the design workflow, so no complicated setup is needed. Users get quick, actionable results in just seconds.

And there’s no extra cost—Fusion 360 still costs just $25 per month for an annual subscription, and it's completely free for students, educators, hobbyists, and startups.*

Smarter Prototyping with Simulation

Fusion 360’s simulation tools allow users to perform linear stress and modal analysis directly within the design environment. You can define materials, apply constraints, and add loads to identify weaknesses in your assemblies—all without leaving the workspace. This helps catch flaws early, reducing costly prototypes and revisions.

"Simulation used to require multiple tools and hours of work," said Kevin Schneider, Director of Fusion 360 at Autodesk. "With Fusion 360, we've made it powerful yet simple. By integrating simulation into the design and engineering workflow, users can build better parts faster and gain the skills to validate their designs more efficiently."

Future updates will include even more advanced simulation features like thermal and fatigue analysis.

Enhanced Collaboration and Productivity

This month’s update also brings major improvements to team collaboration. Real-time multi-user design reviews, enhanced commenting, and the ability to move projects between hubs are now available. The A360 experience has also been improved.

No matter how complex your project is, working with others in Fusion 360 is now smoother, simpler, and more integrated. Instead of sending static images or long screen shares, you can share a live link so remote team members or stakeholders can view and interact with the model in real time through a web browser.

Drawings in Fusion 360 have also been upgraded. You can now create associative centerlines and center marks, and easily align and renumber balloons.

Plus, a new set of keyboard shortcuts has been added to help you navigate the design process more efficiently. These include intuitive gestures for extruding, filleting, and dimensioning sketches.

Democratizing Product Development

Thanks to modern manufacturing techniques, it's becoming just as easy to produce a product as it is to design and analyze it. With Fusion 360’s integrated simulation tools, a new generation of designers and engineers can now take full control of every stage of the product development lifecycle.
