Guangzhou strives to become one of the major automobile manufacturing bases in the country

Zhang Fangyou, chairman of Guangzhou Automobile Industry Group, and Zeng Qinghong, executive deputy general manager of Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co., Ltd., emphasized that Guangdong has a solid foundation and strong capabilities to develop the automobile industry as a key pillar sector. They believe that Guangzhou is well-positioned to become one of China's major automobile manufacturing hubs. From an industry perspective, GAC Group’s total output value in 2003 reached RMB 32 billion, placing it among the top automotive companies in the country alongside FAW, SAIC, and Dongfeng. Regionally, Guangzhou ranked third after Shanghai and Changchun. Zhang noted that Guangzhou Honda currently leads the local auto industry. This year, Guangben completed the expansion of its production capacity to 240,000 units. The company plans to produce and sell 202,000 units this year, with an expectation to reach 210,000. Next year, the target is set at 240,000 to 250,000 units. Guangzhou Honda is also planning further expansion, with shareholder discussions underway. Additionally, a new export plant with a capacity of 50,000 vehicles will start operations by the end of the year, aiming to produce 30,000 units annually next year. With these developments, GAC Group is projected to manufacture up to 280,000 vehicles in 2024. GAC Group is also advancing new collaboration projects, including the Guangzhou Toyota Project. This initiative includes two components: the整车 (complete vehicle) project, which has been submitted for approval, and the engine project, which began in late February and is expected to be completed in the first half of next year. The engine project will have a scale of 500,000 units. According to Zhang, the Guangzhou Automotive Industry Cluster is expected to reach an annual production of 1.3 million vehicles by 2010, generating nearly 300 billion yuan in sales revenue. Achieving this goal would make Guangzhou a global automotive manufacturing hub. Zeng Qinghong, deputy general manager of Guangzhou Honda, believes that Guangdong and Guangzhou will continue to support the automobile industry as a core sector. With the province's largest market and advanced business environment, the automotive industry in Guangdong is poised to become the most important production base in China. He predicted that by 2007, Guangzhou Auto would establish three major bases: Guangzhou Honda, Dongfeng Nissan, and Guangzhou Toyota. Combined, these bases could exceed one million units in output. Including parts, passenger cars, light vehicles, and motorcycles, the entire automotive industry could surpass 200 billion yuan in value. Moreover, the automotive sector is expected to stimulate over 30 other industries, such as steel, petrochemicals, transportation, finance, insurance, and exhibitions, creating significant economic value. Bearing Retaining Compound

As a type of anaerobic adhesive, retaining compounds are essential for the precision assembly of press- and slip-fitted parts, as well as any component that is used within systems subject to high vibration in challenging environmental conditions. Capable of filling spaces between individual components, they cure to form a strong bond and allow for the transmission of high loads without the need for air. This means sealed components and machine designs can still achieve high strength and temperature resistance across a variety of substrates.

Used across a broad range of mechanical components, as well as for bearings, shafts, and cylinder liners, retaining compounds are most commonly found within the automotive and heavy machinery industries. However, they can also be used in any industry where metal-to-metal adhesion is required for moving parts. Additionally, retaining compounds help manufacturers to avoid unnecessary machining of a broad range of mechanical components during MRO.

There are a number of reasons electrically high strength retaining compounds might be chosen over other methods of bonding and adhesion, and the advantages are clear. In fact, any type of component that will be under stress, that has a small adhesion area, and that is found within moving machinery, can benefit from retaining compounds. Moreover, any component that is at risk of fretting leading to corrosion can benefit from these materials to reduce wear and potential failure during operation.
