Just saw this update from the Grayslake Fire Protection District’s Facebook page! They recently got their hands on a brand-new fire engine, and it looks absolutely impressive. Engine 2727 rolled into service on July 19, 2018, and it’ll be stationed at Fire Station #1. This bad boy is a Rosenbauer Commander model, featuring a powerful Cummins engine under the hood. It’s equipped with a massive 750-gallon water tank and a high-capacity 1500 gallons per minute (gpm) Waterous pump, which should make it more than capable of handling any situation. Oh, and let’s not forget the Class A foam system—it’s a game-changer for firefighting efficiency. I’m sure you’ve already seen the photos; they really did it justice. The first one shows the engine parked neatly in front of the station, looking sleek and professional. The second image highlights its size compared to the firefighters standing nearby—definitely gives you a sense of how substantial this vehicle is. And the third shot? That one’s all about the details, showcasing the engine’s clean lines and the attention to quality craftsmanship that went into building it. Grayslake FPD always does an amazing job maintaining their fleet, but this new addition takes things to the next level. Can’t wait to see what other upgrades they have in store!
