From the Grayslake Fire Protection District’s Facebook page: Hey everyone, I just saw that Grayslake FPD's brand-new Engine 2727 finally rolled into town on July 19, 2018! It’s going to be stationed at Fire Station #1. This rig is a real beast—Rosenbauer’s Commander cab and chassis combo. Under the hood, it’s packing a powerful Cummins engine. It’s got a 750-gallon water tank and can pump out 1500 gallons per minute with its Waterous pump. And to top it off, it’s equipped with a Class A foam system for tackling all kinds of fires. I snapped some quick pics when it pulled up. The first one shows the front of the rig, looking pretty sleek and professional. You can really see the attention to detail in the design. In the second shot, you get a better view of the side, where they’ve mounted all the tools and equipment. It’s impressive how much gear they can carry while still keeping everything organized. The third image gives you a good look at the back, especially the massive water tank that runs along the length of the truck. This is definitely an upgrade for the department, and I’m excited to see how it’ll perform during emergencies. Grayslake FPD always does such a great job keeping their fleet modernized.
