OmniVision Releases 1/18-inch Video CMOS Sensor
OmniVision Technologies Inc., a U.S.-based company, has introduced the world's smallest video image sensor, the OV6920. This CMOS-based sensor measures just 1/18 inch in size, significantly smaller than typical image sensors that range from 1/12 to 1/7 inch. The chip itself is compact, with dimensions of 2.1 x 2.3 mm, allowing it to fit into a 3.2 mm camera module.
