What a whirlwind of a year it’s been! Over the past 365 days, the Forge team has been working tirelessly, and it’s incredible to share all the progress we’ve made here at Autodesk University. From fostering our vibrant community to enhancing our platform and DevCon events, we’ve accomplished so much—and there’s still plenty more on the horizon. Let’s take a closer look at what’s been happening. --- ![Image](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/a8658cca7c57b3f31b32faa5fb9ed2d5.jpg) ### People One of the highlights this year has been the addition of Sam Ramji to our team. With his extensive background—serving as the VP of Product Management for Google Cloud Platform, founding Cloud Foundry, and leading open-source and platform strategies at Microsoft—he brings invaluable expertise. His vision is already reshaping the future of Forge, and our community couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome him aboard. --- ### Platform Developments We’re thrilled to announce the public beta launch of the Design Automation API for Inventor. This has been eagerly awaited by our developer community, as it allows users to script and build add-ins that automate tasks for AutoCAD and Inventor in the cloud. Additionally, Design Automation for Revit is now available for preview, with a public beta expected by the end of January. On top of that, we’re rolling out exciting enhancements to the BIM 360 API, including support for Issues, RFIs, and Checklists. ![Image](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/5e72fa0d0a072a6091c688bb296e8e93.png) ### Forge DevCon Progress This year, we held four Forge DevCon events across China, Japan, Germany, and now the U.S., and each one has been a testament to the growing strength of our Forge community. Some venues were so packed that attendees had to stand just to find space! Germany saw a 50% increase in attendance compared to last year, while this Las Vegas event marks the final DevCon of 2018 and is our biggest yet, with more than 25% growth in attendees from the previous year. --- ### Spotlight Customer: JELD-WEN Forge has also collaborated with remarkable customers like JELD-WEN to push the boundaries of innovation. JELD-WEN specializes in manufacturing custom wood and vinyl windows as well as custom wood, fiberglass, and steel doors. Thanks to Forge, they developed a fully customizable, interactive online experience that not only transformed how customers engage with their products but also delivered impressive results. It’s inspiring to see how technology can revolutionize industries. ![Image](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/776c46f796cada6ee2ff4b276ac356a0.jpg) ### Forge Fund Investments in Construction Our Forge Fund continues to make waves in the construction sector. Over the past year, we’ve invested in six companies: Smartvid.io, Project Frog, ManufactOn, eSub, Rhumbix, and Assemble Systems, Inc. Our partnership with Assemble Systems was particularly successful; in July, they officially became part of the Autodesk family. These investments reflect our commitment to driving innovation within the industry. --- Beyond these achievements, there’s even more happening here in Las Vegas this week. We’ve organized a series of tech-focused meetups, a hands-on DevLab session, an answer bar where you can ask questions directly, and more than ten software companies showcasing their Forge-powered applications. There are also some interactive exhibits designed to engage and inspire. Looking ahead to 2019, the possibilities are endless.
