Over the past three years, more than 300 million yuan was invested to enhance the tourism environment, capitalizing on the "Wudang" and "water" brands. In 2007, the city welcomed 7.6 million tourists and generated 3.16 billion yuan in tourism revenue. Additionally, 3.5 million mu of special agricultural bases were developed, contributing 3.35 billion yuan in added value, accounting for 45.5% of total agricultural output, up from less than 20%.
To reduce pollution, all 69 yellow ginger processing companies were shut down in June 2007, leading to a reduction of 1.4 billion yuan in industrial output and 45 million yuan in tax revenue.
