This is from Larry Shapiro:

Last Sunday night, I responded to a basement fire in Glencoe under the same weather conditions that Steve and Dan faced at the 2-11 in Chicago. Fire companies made an aggressive interior attack and quickly brought the fire under control. The home at 1201 Longmeadow Drive was located on a narrow, dead-end street that overlooked a golf course. The wind was coming straight off the course, pushing snow into the street and making it even more difficult to navigate.

There’s not much to see here, but the weather conditions really stood out. It was brutal out there—cold, windy, and snowing hard. I was happy to get back in my car and head home after the incident. It’s always a reminder of how tough the conditions can be for first responders during winter emergencies.
