This is from Larry Shapiro: Last Sunday night, I responded to a basement fire in Glencoe under the same weather conditions that Steve and Dan faced during the 2-11 incident in Chicago. The crews made an aggressive interior attack and quickly brought the fire under control. The home at 1201 Longmeadow Drive was located on a narrow, dead-end street that overlooked a golf course. Strong winds were blowing from the golf course, creating deep snow drifts that made the street feel even more confined. There wasn’t much to see here, but the weather really stood out as the most notable factor of the call. It was cold, windy, and the snow was flying fast.
