(Updated Nov. 20 to include new information on Model Coordination) As we kick off one of our most exciting weeks of the year, bringing together over 10,000 customers and partners at Autodesk University 2018, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the key highlights from the past year with BIM 360. This has been a year of incredible growth and innovation for BIM 360, with 33 major releases, over 130 new features, and 60 new software integrations. These updates reflect our commitment to working closely with our customers to deliver technology that supports essential construction workflows—by centralizing project information for all stakeholders and enabling greater access to data for smarter decision-making.  The Next-Generation BIM 360 Platform Last November, we announced the preview of the next-generation BIM 360 platform—a complete re-engineering of our BIM 360 products onto a unified data platform that connects design and construction processes, teams, and information. Today, more and more customers are using BIM 360 to power critical workflows such as: We’re excited to announce that we're now adding support for another vital construction workflow—Cost Management. This new feature brings contracts, budgets, and change order management into the BIM 360 platform, helping teams stay on budget and reduce risk. It will be available in limited availability starting in December. If you're interested in learning more, reach out to your Autodesk representative. BIM 360’s new cost management capabilities offer powerful change management workflows and real-time visibility into the financial health of your projects.  Forge and an Open Platform BIM 360 is not just about core AEC workflows—it's built on Forge, creating a collaborative environment within the broader software ecosystem. Since launching the BIM 360 Integration Partner Program last year, we’ve added 60 new integrations, growing our partner ecosystem to over 100 companies. BIM 360 now connects with platforms like 3DR, DESTINI Estimator, BuilderBox, Egnyte, and many others. BIM 360 supports a growing partner ecosystem through both internal development and strategic investments. These integrations help create a single source of truth by bringing together data from across the construction technology landscape. We've also made key investments through the Forge Fund in companies like eSUB, Smartvid.io, and Rhumbix, who are delivering innovative cloud-based solutions that are transforming how construction projects are managed. One of our biggest moves this year was acquiring Assemble Systems. This acquisition enhances BIM 360’s ability to support 4D and 5D estimating and scheduling, making it easier for construction teams to plan, manage bids, and execute assembly works efficiently. Model Coordination BIM 360 continues to enhance its model coordination capabilities, offering tools that automate clash detection and resolution. Here’s what’s new: Previously, users could already aggregate models, run automated clash detection, and view results. Now, these features are even more streamlined and user-friendly. Unlike traditional construction apps that may only have basic 3D viewing, BIM 360 supports multi-format 3D models, making it a powerful tool for GCs, subcontractors, and fabricators throughout the project lifecycle—from design to installation and commissioning. While we continue to solve today’s challenges, we’re also looking ahead. We're exploring the use of predictive analytics early in the coordination phase to prevent costly RFIs and change orders before they occur. With machine learning and AI already enhancing safety and quality in BIM 360, we're ready to apply similar capabilities to model coordination. Connected Data Is the Path to Predictability Digitizing processes and centralizing data is the key to predictability. BIM 360 is built from the ground up to centralize your project data—starting with the Revit model and expanding during preconstruction, fabrication, and on-site execution. BIM 360 connects data from start to finish, turning raw data into actionable insights through: With tighter integrations to Autodesk’s authoring tools, BIM 360 helps customers connect, organize, and optimize their projects from beginning to end. This connected approach is the path to predictability—leading to more integrated, automated workflows and continuous improvement across the entire project lifecycle.
