Caradoc Ehrenhalt: At EV Safe Charge, our mission is to support the global shift toward sustainable transportation by making electric vehicle charging more flexible, efficient, and accessible. We are developing cutting-edge solutions like ZiGGY, a mobile EV charging robot that combines convenience with smart technology. This innovation allows businesses such as shopping centers, hotels, airports, and fleet operators to offer on-demand charging without the need for expensive infrastructure. In addition, ZiGGY features interactive digital screens that can display targeted ads, creating new revenue opportunities for facility owners. ANC: What inspired you to start this company? How do you want to contribute to the future of energy and tech? Ehrenhalt: I was motivated by the growing demand for electric vehicles and the lack of convenient charging options. When I bought my first EV, I realized there was a gap in the market—especially when it came to easy access and affordable charging. That's how EV Safe Charge was born. My goal is to help accelerate the transition to clean energy by making EV charging more practical and scalable. ANC: What attracted you to the Techstars Alabama EnergyTech Accelerator? Ehrenhalt: The accelerator's strong focus on energy innovation and sustainability, along with the opportunity to connect with experienced mentors and industry leaders, made it an ideal fit for us. ANC: What is the No. 1 thing you’d like potential investors to understand about your company? Ehrenhalt: Our mobile charging robot, ZiGGY, is already generating significant interest around the world. We've secured letters of intent and are in the process of conducting demos and pilot programs. ANC: What takeaways do you hope to gain for your company by participating in the Techstars Alabama EnergyTech Accelerator? Ehrenhalt: We're looking forward to forming strategic partnerships and attracting investment to scale our operations and expand our reach. ANC: What is your opinion of Birmingham so far?
